Thank you

Friday 4th September 2020

Dear Parent/Guardian

I would like to take this opportunity to say a massive thank you to all the children who attend both schools. Their behaviour has been exemplary and they have coped exceedingly well with the changes we have put in place.

I would also like to thank you for your support and good wishes – we are doing our utmost to make school as safe as possible whilst trying to keep the children happy.

Schools are places to educate children, and during the last 6 months it has been exceedingly sad to see the schools, at best, half full. Though unlikely to return to business as usual in the near future we are doing our utmost to make sure your child receives a rounded education. As always this isn’t simply Maths and English but Music, Art, PE and all those subjects that enrich a child’s education. We are working hard to get these in place.

I know personally I find the necessary move from an open door policy towards what we currently follow very difficult. I have always been proud of the relationship the schools have with you as parents and I hope that the crisis passes quickly so we can return to what we do best.

We are currently awaiting training on how to embed videos onto our website. When this becomes possible we will be recording a weekly video – celebrating children’s good work and also explaining why some of the changes have been made. This will also be available on Seesaw.

Myself and Mrs Booth will be present at Lark Hall and Flax Hill during the pandemic enabling us both to have a comprehensive understanding of both schools.  We hope to have wrap-around care for after school starting on Monday 14th September with breakfast club starting the Monday afterwards. More details will follow shortly.

As always if you have any questions please contact the school office.

Once again, I’d just like to say a massive thanks for your support throughout this crisis. Your children are a credit to you and we will do our utmost to keep them safe and happy.

Yours sincerely
